As reported in the March edition of Gessner News, we loaded our new 20 mtr Drawn Scarper onto a truck and sent it out to work. The photo shows in working 200km from Mt Isa in some pretty rough going, so rough that some contractors with other equipment wouldn’t even take this work on. The material was ripped in the worst places with a Komatsu 155 Dozer.
The Dozer has a Gessner Canopy and Gessner converted Single to Multi Shank Ripper fitted. This machine was then used to push-load the Scraper. 18 cubic mtrs per load is being realised in these harsh rocky conditions. The job this unit is working on at the moment also has some very light powdery type soil and even in this material without the Dozer pushing, we are achieving an average of 13 cubic mtrs. This can be attributed to the cutting edge angle and the way the apron actually loads the bowl like a bucket when it closes.
FARMFEST 08
Farmfest has come and gone for another year and we are happy to report that there was a number of very positive enquires over the three days. Gessners had on display a New CAT D6R fitted with a Full Scrub Canopy, Trunnion Mount Treespear and Gessner Lewis Ripper Fitted. This display was a major drawcard with a lot of visitors to Farmfest, impressed with the quality of attachments and how the Canopy complimented the Dozer while offering maximum protection. Gessner also had a 9mtr Scarimaster, 8mtr Gessner Walker Double Disc Planter, Big Buck and many shank options on display as well. A new product on display which the company is importing into Australia is a Carbide Cutter. This has been purchased by Toowoomba Regional Council to be fitted to a skid loader for lantana and regrowth control in conjunction with Condamine Alliance.
