Ray Lewis started Lewis Rippers in the mid 60's and developed a range of rippers for Dozers, Loaders and Graders. These rippers with some models incorporating variable pitch, gave machine operators the capacity to carry out work on larger jobs with smaller machines, their investment in machinery was more productive.
As the demand for the Lewis product increased, it was time for the next chapter in its progression. Gessner Industries purchased Lewis Rippers from Ray Lewis in
1987 and carried on the development of a range of Rippers and Equipment for Dozers, Loaders and Graders that is unique and not matched by any other manufacture.
Gessner Industries have manufactured some 1600 ripper assemblies to-date and now many of the world leaders in earthmoving equipment: Caterpillar, Case and Volvo are specifying Lewis Rippers fitted to some of their models. Because of this, our emphasis on quality and innovation has become even more important than ever, as
Lewis now supply an after market product that has to reflect the level of engineering and quality these world leaders in earthmoving equipment produce.
Due to our continual quest for innovation and commitment investment in R & D we are able to offer greater flexibility and a range of rippers that are model
specific with a broad range of options.
